About Cambeck Petroleum
A Wisconsin Legacy Since 1969
Cambeck Petroleum began in 1969 when James Campbell Sr. and Lee Loundenbeck joined forces to create what would become one of southern Wisconsin’s most trusted names in fuel and petroleum distribution. What started as a single Main Street Beverage and Gas location quickly evolved into a growing network of service stations dedicated to quality fuel, honest service, and community commitment.
The early years saw rapid expansion. The second Cambeck location opened at the Five Points intersection in Janesville, followed by Campbell’s One Stop at Highway 14 and A, a familiar name to locals for decades. By 1986, the company made a pivotal move — closing the One Stop to focus on a major new project: developing the TravelCenters of America (TA) location at the intersection of I-90 and Highway 14.
Through the 1970s and 1980s, Cambeck’s footprint expanded beyond Janesville, operating two locations in Delavan and two in Lake Geneva. These sites helped cement the company’s regional presence and reputation for reliable fuel service across southern Wisconsin.
The TA location, expanded in 1995 into a full-service truck stop, became a flagship facility and a cornerstone of Cambeck’s business model — blending convenience, modern amenities, and dependable fueling services for both professional drivers and travelers alike.
During the 1990s, Cambeck Petroleum continued to grow strategically, acquiring TigerMart and adding even more capacity and retail reach under its brand portfolio.
